Osaka Cake & Osaka Durian Cake (大阪ケーキーと大阪ドリアンケーキー)

Recently, my mom had encountered a bakery shop nearby Kian Kok Secondary School which just next to the Tai Seng Supermarket. Actually, this bakery shop was recommended to my mom by hers friends. Many of hers friends are buying the breads here which is so freshly baked and with soft texture of it. Even I found out last week that my colleague also used to buy bread from this bakery shop. Her children like it so much!

During weekdays, this area is super crowded and really difficult to look for a carpark and have a look at this bakery shop. Well, this bakery shop is not opening during Sundays but opens during public holidays.Yesterday was Malaysia public holidays. That's why I finally grabbed this chance to have a glance at this small bakery shop.

In fact, the shop name is Ur Way's Cafe which is also serving some drinks or desserts for the customers. There are a lots of students to gather here during weekdays for their desserts and bread as well.

Alright, back to the main focus! I was wondering around of their cake display units. Then, there is a sudden of eye catching cake's name that took all of my focus: Osaka Cake! I do admit that recently I was totally addicted to anything that is related to Japan due to the language course that I'm having. That's why just in a glimpse, I fall in love with these Osaka Cake & Osaka Durian.

In reality that, I seldom touch on those cake with icing sugar on top just because I really don't favour in sweet flavours food. What i normally will think of those cakes with icing sugar decorations is that :" Oh no! This cake should be very sweet in flavour. I don't dare to try on it!" However, these Osaka cakes broke the normal thinking way of mine. Without dragging any of the seconds,  I asked the shopkeeper to pack for me each of them. Besides, I also took a shepherd chicken pie to have a try on it. I was all seduced by the pies just because in that morning I watched the programme of AFC food truck: pies. Slyrrrrppppp...... I was beaten by all the seduction. Mom! How am I going to diet with the looking delicious food just in front of me! >"<

Okay! Back to home! Time to reveal the taste of my food especially for those Osaka Cakes.

Left hand side: Osaka Cake & Right Hand side: Osaka Durian Cake

Yummy!!! Especially the Osaka Durian Cake!!! Both cakes are with custard filling just the difference is that the Osaka Duran Cake with durian flavour custard filling while Osaka Cake with the normal custard filling. Yum! Yum! The outer layer of the cake is baked until a little crispy. "Crunch! Crunch!" sounded when try to scoop for a bite with a spoon provided. The durian custard filling Osaka Durian Cake is the awesome one. I did not smell much of the durian but once the custard was filled in my mouth, wow!!!!, the taste of the durian was so strong and delicious! I was so regret at that time that just bought one of each. Never mind! I know I will be going again soon and grab for them. The more you buy, the cheaper they are. ^^ But don't over buy, if can't finish will be a great waste , while if forcefully finish them all, will need to beware of the increment of body weight and others consequences. LOLxxx... Overall, won't regret to have a try on these. Great one!

Attending Japanese Language Class

Wow~ I'm getting busier recently. Just because I was lucky enough being picked to attend the Japanese Language Course sponsored by Government. Actually, I had been registered for this course three years ago. I had been totally forget about this since they never contact me at all. So, I was thinking that maybe I had been eliminated from their list for some certain reason.

But, early of this month I received a text message showing: "You had been selected to attend the Japanese Language Course sponsored by Government. Please contact us immediately." I was so happy and hooray-ing all the while alone. I had been so desperately wanted to learn Japanese. I did self learning at home but it's insufficient whereas there is no one to correct me the right pronunciation and writing.

This course was started on 11th of February, Saturday. I have to attend every Saturday and Sunday. They included the lunch and drinks for the students. And, even the reading materials. However, I have to arrange my time wisely and need to study hard because there are exams to test our understanding. If failed, we won't able to get the certificate. I'm learning hard where I keep talk Japanese to my mom even though she doesn't understand any.

Keep on with hard work! ^^ ~がんばるよ~

Luxury Wedding Banquet at Nobel Banquet

I had attended my cousin's wedding banquet at Nobel Banquet, Jln Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. What would I say about this wedding banquet? This was the first time I had such a luxurious wedding banquet menu ever for the moment. Maybe, I'm just an ordinary person that has not known with many upper class level friends which don't have many chances to be served with such a menu in a wedding banquet. I think, from now on, there will be more and more coming. lol~

At first, let me show you their menu:-

(i) Chilled Lobster & Deep Fried House Beancurd
(ii) Double-Boiled Soup with Fish Maw & Escargot
(iii) Roasted Suckling Pig Hong Kong Style
(iv) Steamed "Soon Hock" with Superior Soya Sauce
(v) Braised Abalone with Sea Cucumber & Mushroom
(vi) Braised Stuffed Whole Chinese Cabbage
(vii) Braised E-Fu Noodles with Vegetables & Mushroom
(viii) Sweetened Lotus Seed with Lily Bulb

As usual, I did attend to many of the Chinese wedding banquet, their first dish normally served with hot & cold combination. Hot means deep fried or cooked food while the cold one mostly means for those ready to serve food such as jelly fish. But, for this, they served the Lobster as first dish has showed the luxuriant of this banquet. Maybe because I'm just a country girl that did not get to expose to the world too much. lol~ But, that's not much special about this dish. It's just ordinary with its original taste.

Next, served the soup in bowls given to each of us. What a pleasant way of serving the soup if compare to the others. Normally what they do is get soups in a big bowl and present it to the table then the waiter or waitress will then serve it to the small bowls one by one. This soup was cooked with the chicken meats and pork ribs and added with extra ingredients such as fish maw and escargot. Overall, it's not bad if the saltiness could be reduced.

Then, the crispy piglet is served to the table. Ladies would just try avoid this as it's adding some unnecessary fats but guys are so glad to have them. It's taste quite nice. But I don't dare to try more on this, just for my brother. As he is a guy with big appetite, so he doesn't mind to have this more.

Yes, my favourite food is served. The fish! This type of fish is named as "soon hok"  and I don't know what's the meaning of the name. Just a name. Well, as I know, many of the foreigners especially hongkees, they love to buy this fish back to Hong Kong. It was served fresh and quite a big size of it. I was aiming for the fish head all night but at last did not manage to get it to pamper my own stomach. lolxxxx~ My brother was kept teasing on me by saying:" Please sis, don't acting like you are so polite and in lady manner as you are thinking to grab that fish head!" Isssshhhhh....>"<

*Drum-rolling* Here comes the highlight dish of the night - ABALONE! This is not the ordinary abalone in canned food. It's four-headed(4 pcs) abalone. To describe this in short, Chinese divided the abalone in different grade, normally they graded them as ten-headed(10 pcs), eight-headed(8pcs) etc. This is the numbers of pieces in every 500-600grams. The numbers of pieces lesser means the larger is that abalone to be so the more expensive it is. So, when I saw them served this four-headed (4 pcs), I was salivating and thinking that:" Oh yeah! I'm going to eat you slowly, abalone. Finally I got the chance to taste you. " Then, I was so slowly cutting this abalone into pieces with the knife and fork given. Hmm...Yummy! After all, actually abalone does not has its taste. It was taste good when serve with the sauce that cooked well. And, the sea cucumber served as side dish is taste so delicious as well.

Then, here comes the stuffed cabbage. At first, I thought this is just an ordinary baggage. But, after cut into half, the cabbage is stuffed in full with crabs meats, eggs, and many others ingredients. However, I just manage to try some of this as I was already full and started to slow down. This cabbage is delicious. Feel like wanna try to cook one for my family. ^X^

Noodles was served means the wedding banquet was comes to nearly an end. The noodles was so salty and taste so bad. I don't know whether is all of us have full or the noodles was really sucks, the leftover of noodles is so much. Closely like no one touch it before. And, follow by the desserts that taste so good which is cooked with many different types of ingredients.

After all, this is namely the luxurious wedding banquet but they don't focus much on the taste. They just sale luxurious. The quality of the food is still have plenty of improvements to work with. Overall is not too bad. Still consider okay. But, for a person so fussy as me, maybe will not want to try for second time unless they have improve. Perhaps, anyone has try in this restaurants can share with me the feedback.

Good day!(^_^)

Anyway, this will not only restricted to food only blog, but others interesting incidents, people, places and etc to share with. Thanks for supporting!^^
